Marji, this account made my eyes tear up with so many memories. What a hero your dad was -- what grace he displayed. Your mom has it in abundance, and her mother did, too. You have a beautiful inheritance, and I'm not talking about stocks ! Much love, Debby
I lay here in bed, recovering from surgery and came across this post. It touched me so deeply on many levels and I was wiping away tears near the end. So many parallels that I will share with you someday ❤️thank you for sharing this beautiful memory.
One of my favorite memories is my mom and dad helping us move a few things into the new place. One item is a fold away book case. When my dad took it out of the Explorer, it fell completely apart. I remember the look on his face of “oh well” and laughing. I still look at that bookcase and laugh at the memory.
Later we went to eat at a restaurant and he had trouble eating. We didn’t know...
Life is so precious and moments are even more precious. A lot of stupid stuff can easily fall away when we truly live from this awareness. Thank you for sharing... I love seeing your dad thru your eyes in this story. ❤️❤️❤️
I love your story and you are so right! It is hard to remember what is important vs. what is urgent when life is moving so quickly. Keep enjoying that bookcase!
Such a wonderful, rich and emotional memory.
I was impressed when I read that your mom didn’t like the earnings! I looked again and read earrings! Thought that counts, right?
You are very funny! Hope all is well with you.

What a wonderful note. I miss him so often but his memories do make smile. I hope you and yours are well and happy.
What I should have added is that YOU are the embodiment of that legacy.
Shame on me — I momentarily forgot that at your Bat Mitzvah the rabbi began with: “Marji — You are the sermon.”
I hate talking on the phone; it exhausts me. And your mom doesn't like emailing. We’ve lost touch. I’ll try to call …

Big hug and love, Deb
